Frequently asked wedding venue questions addressed below. 


Q. How many people does Kirkbride Hall hold and how many should I invite?

A. 160 people can be seated in the room for a wedding reception and we suggest not inviting more than 190 people. For a ceremony only, we can accommodate up to 220 guests. For a ceremony and reception in the same space, we can be flexible.

Q. What’s the site fee? And what does that include?

A. The cost of the venue is dependent on date, time of year, weekday vs. weekend and a few other variables. For specific pricing, please reach out to our Meeting and Event Manager. Included with the fee of the venue is standard tables and chairs.

Q. Do you use straight or round tables for our guests?

A. All round tables are used for your guests except for the head table. In some cases straight eight-foot tables may be used to make the room more comfortable for moving around.

Q. Can we use designated seating?

A. Yes. Kirkbride Hall will supply you with a custom designed floor plan which you will approve prior to your reception. You must supply table numbers. Eight (8) is the number suggested at each table.

Q. Can we take pictures outside?

A. Yes. The grounds of The Village at Grand Traverse Commons is yours to use for photo opportunities around our beautifully landscaped building.

Q. Can we have the room decorated?

A. Yes. Any activities or decorations involving open flames or pyrotechnics are prohibited.  Candles may be used with the approval of KIRKBRIDE HALL management.  All candles must be extinguished at the ending time of each event date.  The use of any confetti, glitter or similar material is prohibited.  Fog or smoke machines are also prohibited.

Q. Are the facility and bathrooms handicapped accessible?

A. Yes, Kirkbride Hall is ADA Compliant.

Q. What is the deposit?

A. 50% of your room charge is due upon signature of the agreement.

Q. Is the deposit refundable?

A. Your deposit is not refundable. More information regarding this is listed in the agreement.

Q. When is the balance due?

A. 30 days prior to the event date.

Q. Is there adequate parking?

A. Parking is limited in the area of KIRKBRIDE HALL.  Based upon the number of guests and the time and day of your event, KIRKBRIDE HALL management reserves the right to require you to hire an insured valet company to park guest vehicles. All guests will be directed to park in designated areas however KIRKBRIDE HALL reserves the right to change the parking location within 30 days of your event.  Handicap guests may park in designated areas or be dropped off at the front door.  This will be covered upon signature of the agreement.


Q. At what time will my guests have to leave the facility?

A. Musical entertainment and events at KIRKBRIDE HALL must end by 11:00 PM.  All guests must depart by 11:30 PM. KIRKBRIDE HALL is located in a residential area and since many residents will be sleeping when your event ends, quiet behavior is required when outside after 9:00 PM.
